The pink Niagara is a table grape alternative , that from the 90s , is being produced in tropical regions , thanks to the work of adaptation and development of new technologies conducted by Embrapa Grape and Wine in partnership with other institutions. This variety has great acceptance in the consumer market , furthermore, its cultivation has several benefits : it can be produced in small areas, it is easy to handle , requires less labor -intensive and less fungicide applications , compared to cultivars of fine grapes seed , resulting in lower production cost .
Another advantage is that when produced in tropical regions , the harvest can be performed in the off period of the traditional producing regions ( mid-July to mid-November ) , almost double the average prices achieved with the cultivar Italy . What makes a great alternative to get jobs, and increases in income from the family farm.
