The Élysée Treaty is a major milestone in the history of Franco-German relations. It was a new beginning after the Second World War. So 50 years after the document was signed, how is that relationship? Well here's an example of German-French cooperation and of how much work that cooperation can mean. A joint masters degree in German and French politics at Berlin's Freie Universität.
There are about 20 students at the Otto-Suhr Insitute for Political Science at Berlin's Freie Universität. They are students like any other, but in some respects they're also a bit different. Studying here means studying a joint German-French master's degree. The
degree's official title is "Politicial Science - Affaires Internationales and European. Céline, Arthur, Benedict and their fellow students are following a binational course: one year at Science Po in Paris, and one year at the FU. 50 years ago, students like this didn't exist.
