The Tibet Freedom March and Rally was held in central London to commemorate the 56th Anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising, Saturday 7 March. .
The uprising began on 10 March 1959, by Tibetans in Lhasa The Tibetan National Uprising is commemorated annually by exiled Tibetans and Tibet supporters,
The march started from Whitehall, opposite Downing Street, to rally outside the Chinese Embassy, Portland Place, London.
Estimated 5,000 Tibetans and British and foreign supporters participated in the march and rally.
It was organised jointly by Tibet Society, Free Tibet, Students for a Free Tibet and Tibetan Community in Britain.
