Been craving something lemony and sweet that would be perfect to dip in your coffee or tea☕️ These spring days are going slow, sometimes all you need is a madeleine with your afternoon tea to make it all better ☺️🤍
~ So let’s get to baking 👩🏻🍳
~ recipe essential:
. Madeleines pan
. Handheld mixer
~ Ingredients:
. 1 stick of unsalted butter 🧈 (room temperature) and some more for the madeleine pan 😌
. 2 large eggs ( room temperature) 🥚
. 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
. 2 teaspoons of lemon zest 🍋
. 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
. 1 cup of sifted all-purpose flour
. 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
. 1/8 of salt 🧂
Pro tips:
. Make sure all ingredients are at room temp.
. Let the batter chill in the fridge for 30 - 60 minutes and no more than that or the butter will harden and becomes too difficult to scope out
. Bake for 11 - 12 minutes, it depends on the type of oven you use but as soon as the little madeleines pop up in size then take them out, I personally like them not so golden in colour and to prevent them from becoming too dry 🥺🤍
