Cabbage & Rice🍽😋

Serves 4 people
Ingredients:
For cabbage mixture;
300 g Ground Beef
4 Cups green cabbage, chopped
1 Onion, chopped
3 tbsp Cooking Oil
2 tbsp Tomato Paste
1 tsp Curry Powder
1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp Ground Turmeric
1 tsp Cinnamon Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp Salt
1/8 TSP Saffron, dissolved in 2 tbsp hot water
For rice;
2 Cups White Rice (basmati or Persian rice)
3 Cups water
1 1/2 tsp Salt
Instructions:
Blanch chopped cabbage. Then drain and set aside.
In a large pan, heat the oil. Sauté onion until translucent. Add ground beef. Stir frequently and brown the meat over medium high heat until the natural meat juices are released. Add spices, tomato paste, blanched cabbage and saffron. Cook for 20 minutes on low heat. Set it aside.
In a big pot on medium-high heat, add rice, water and salt then bring it to a boil, stir occasionally. Let the water is completely absorb then pour cabbage mixture into the pot and mix well. Poke several holes all the way down the rice to the bottom of the pot using the handle of a spatula or a spoon. Cover it and turn the heat to low. Continue to cook for about 30 minutes. Once fully cooked, turn the heat off then uncover and fluff with a fork. Serve immediately with #shirazisalad , # tzatziki sauce or your favourite salad.
