A beginners guide to hiking Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock)! We did this hike in July 2023, so the information in this video is based of a hiking experience in July.
This video was created with much love for nature, hiking and Norway. We understand that everyones view on hiking Preikestolen is different, we tried to make a guide for beginners and for hikers with less than average fitness to help them prepare for this hike. We used our own experience to help create a visual example of what hiking Preistolen might be like. Feel free to share your hiking experience with us and let us know what you think of hiking Preikestolen!
Recorded and created in 2023. Circumstances might change at Pulpit Rock, such as parking fee or rules.
Who are we?
Jennifer and Dennis, a neurodiverse couple from The Netherlands with a special interest in nature, hiking and travelling all over the world.
We came up with the idea of driving from Delft (near The Hague) in The Netherlands, all the way up to Norway. If you are interested in our journey, you can watch a compilation of it here:

We had to overcome many fears on this trip and we had to cross some personal boundaries such as: camping in the wild (something Dennis had a fear of), not planning the trip (something Jennifer always does in detail), hiking whilst not in our best shapes (allthough we did take safety into account and we know we are both very determined and we are mentally strong).
We prepared very well when it came to equipment, as Jennifer has been hiking for the most part of her life.
We decided we want to become fitter, more outgoing and more adventurous together. In 2022 we started by visiting some very amazing locations near and on Kos, Greece (such as the Stefanos Crater) and in 2023 we decided to travel through Scandinavia and we recorded the entire trip, on which you can find content both here on Youtube, TikTok and on our Instagram @Campfirecompanions_nl
