This week we cover seven of the eight refractive errors of the human eye. Opticians design lenses that correct refractive errors. Here we cover myopia, hyperopia, simple myopic astigmatism, simple hyperopic astigmatism, compound myopic astigmatism, compound hyperopic astigmatism and mixed astigmatism. Optician training includes an understanding of refractive errors and how optical lenses are able to correct them.
