Hilda (Jean Alexander) wants the residents to shun Alan (Alan Browning) but they refuse. Audrey (Gillian McCann) starts to feels overwhelmed. Jack (Arthur Leslie) is concerned about the missing necklace. Albert (Jack Howarth) decides to stay with Ken (Bill Roache) and Val (Anne Reid) a while longer. Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) proposes a special Christmas celebration but dislikes the suggestions. Alan tries to apologise to Elsie (Pat Phoenix) for his behaviour towards Hilda but Elsie rejects him. Ray (Neville Buswell) angrily rebuffs Maggie's (Irene Sutcliffe) help. Audrey suddenly collapses.
