The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Bill was passed in Rajya Sabha without any discussion. This bill mainly focuses on the legal process of adoption of children. This bill has already been passed in Lok Sabha. Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani introduced this bill in the Rajya Sabha amidst uproar by opposition MPs over the Pegasus issue.
