In an increasingly carbon-constrained world, investors are looking at how to appropriately assess and price climate-related risk and opportunities. The Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) provides a framework on how companies can disclose information to help market participants better understand climate-related financial risks. Today, TCFD is a widely adopted framework helping companies understand the effects of climate change on their business.
As COP26 wrapped up, the work for the business community has just begun. We hope this webinar will provide attendees with a better understanding of the constantly evolving climate reporting landscape, drivers and expectations of related disclosures that will likely come their way in the near future.
In Singapore, SGX is proposing to introduce a phased approach to mandatory climate reporting from 2022. This raises the urgency to equip organisations, especially in key sectors identified by SGX, with the knowledge and tools around the scope and quality of TCFD disclosures in Singapore. This webinar will provide an overview of TCFD, and how that translates to Singapore context. It will also shed some light on generic climate-disclosure expectations from investors, including the mandatory TCFD recommendation by Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX). The speakers will explain what this means for companies, how TCFD can be used to help companies incorporate climate-related risks and opportunities into their risk management and strategic planning processes and discuss best practices.
This webinar is brought to you by the Energy Studies Institute, National University of Singapore and ERM.
