A low-pressure area (LPA) which may become the first storm of 2021 is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday, the latest wind map showed Tuesday.

In his report on “24 Oras,” GMA’s resident meteorologist Nathaniel “Mang Tani” Cruz said the LPA was last estimated at 1,235 kilometers east of Mindanao.

The LPA is highly likely to intensify into a storm and will be called “Auring” while inside PAR. It is going towards Mindanao.

At present, the LPA has no significant impact yet on the country.
