Buy some Frog Togg Rain pants for your ultrlight weight backpacking kit. Buy them for $10 in a size too big for you, cut them above the knee, now you have rain shorts and now you don't even have to watch the video :) These are the regular weight Frog Toggs. If you cut the light weight Frog Toggs you would have shorts that weigh half as much or around 2.5 oz
