Vegan jalapeño cheddar biscuits recipe.
2 cups all purpose flour
1tbsp + 1tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt ( I use Himalayan but you can use table salt)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup vegan butter
2 jalapeños seeds removed and chopped
1 cup shredded vegan cheddar cheese.
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk ( I use almond coconut milk)
Method: in a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, sugar , salt and black pepper, whisk to combine. Add vegan butter and using fingertips
rub the butter into the mix till the mixture is a coarse meal.
Stir the cheddar cheese and chopped jalapeño
gradually add the almond milk and mix by hand until messy ball is formed.
Transfer the dough into floured surface and knead.
Do not over mix as they won’t rise well.
Pat the ball down into 1inch. Then use pastry cutter
to cut as many as possible. Re- rolling the scraps as needed. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet. Baked at preheated oven 200 degree Celsius for 18-20 mins. or until golden brown.
