Indian Economic Updates : Union Cabinet Approves 12 Smart Cities with Rs 28,602 Crore Budget
The Union Cabinet has approved the development of 12 industrial smart cities with a Rs 28,602 crore budget, targeting Rs 1.5 lakh crore in investments and up to 4 million jobs. Spread across 10 states, including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and Kerala, these cities are scheduled for completion by 2027. They will offer integrated residential and commercial areas with advanced infrastructure. Part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP), the project aims to boost manufacturing and regional growth.
