While current events are certainly unprecedented globally, there is a general consensus that the tourism and hospitality industry will rebound—and some predict the rebound quicker than we might expect. The industry has little control over when that will happen, but what they do have control over is how they respond. Some businesses are already applying the lessons learned from previous downturns and, while travel restrictions and forced closures may be different instigators than natural disasters or economic crises, these practices have the ability to provide some level of confidence and control in times of navigating uncharted waters. Ceridwyn King, associate professor at Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management, discusses this and more as part of the expert speaker series, Global Crisis; Global Business—What Can We Expect? sponsored by the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at Temple University.
