The French TGV High Speed Train Network provides one of the fastest High Speed Trains on the World with up to 320 km/h. Fastest at the moment (2019) are the Italian and the Chinese. Some of their High Speed Trains are able to reach 350 km/h. Maglevs not mentioned.
The 500 km ride between Paris and Strasbourg takes only 1:45h!
and is about 50 to 150 €. The earlier you book, the cheaper the ride. European railways mostly use nowadays the same pricing model as airlines.
It´s a very smooth ride. But you constantly hear some sort of a whining noise generated through the immense wind forces working outside at 320 km/h.
The actual speed varies constantly between 300 and 320 km/h depending on whether the track is slightly ascending or descending.

Overtaking cars with ludicrously speed on the nearby freeway was really funny.
