The commission of inquiry into land matters has unearthed a plot by government officials to fraudulently pay out one hundred billion shillings to people claiming they are owed compensation from the of Isimba dam Project.
The commission’s chairperson of the commission Justice Bamugemereire has halted the payments. She said the commission detected foul play in the payment to the claimants who were already compensated before the project kicked off.
The commission has also blocked compensation of seven billion shillings to Muhammad Bbuule on Sir Edward Muteesa’s land in Mutundwe in Lubaga division.
