It can be difficult to find reasonably priced replacement parts for the John Deere 640 and 740 front end loaders. Koyker Manufacturing, a company in South Dakota, which has specialized in designing and building aftermarket loaders for decades, recently created replacement parts that are 100% compatible with the John Deere 640 and 740 loaders. As a Koyker dealer, we offer these parts at a reasonable price.
These are the compatible parts that are available:
Quick attach bucket holders. Both the John Deere Classic style quick attach bucket holder, as well as the Global style quick attach bucket holder, are available for the John Deere 640 and 740 loaders.
The John Deere classic style bucket holder kit includes the following components: 1.) Left Hand Bucket Holder, replacing John Deere PN#s AW27833 and AW34283. 2.) Right Hand Bucket Holder, replacing John Deere PN#s AW27832 and AW34282. 3.) Bucket Holder Shaft.
The global bucket holder pins directly to the 740 Loader's arms and tilt cylinders. This piece completely replaces the JD classic style quick attach bucket holder. It is NOT an adapter attached to the original style bucket holder. The benefits of having a complete global bucket holder replacement, versus an adapter, is better leverage when lifting with the bucket.
Lift and bucket cylinders for both the 640 and 740 loaders are available for both the non-self-leveling and self-leveling (with or without mechanical self-level) versions of these loaders.
The 740 lift cylinder we carry replaces John Deere part number AH211118. This is the same boom cylinder for the 740 loaders both with and without mechanical self-leveling.
The 740 self-leveling bucket cylinder we carry replaces John Deere part number AH218328 (serial #s _____ - 018699) and AH163724 (serial #s 018700 - _____).
An improvement has been made on the bucket cylinder for the NSL 740 loader. It is common for the shaft in the original John Deere cylinders to bend during back dragging. The new cylinders, while still being completely compatible with the 740 NSL loader, are made with thicker shafts. The new shafts have a 1-3/4" diameter. This helps prevent bending during back dragging. If switching out the original cylinders, you will need to purchase 2 cylinders, as the thickness in the shaft requires both sides to be changed out.
The 740 non-self-leveling bucket cylinder we carry replaces John Deere part number AH211259.
The lift cylinder for the 640 self-leveling and non-self-leveling loaders replaces John Deere part numbers AH150069, AH208980 and AH229159.
The bucket cylinders for the John Deere 640 self-leveling loader replace John Deere part numbers AH174729, AH211263, AH211263, and AH211313.
The loader parking stands are available and are completely compatible with the John Deere 640 and 740 loaders. The stands we carry replace John Deere part number BW13853. The stand kit includes the channel and guide, but not the hardware.
Uprights (masts) for both the 640 and 740 loaders are also available. Again, they are compatible with the John Deere manufactured 640 and 740 loaders.
The mast we carry for the 740 loader without self-leveling replaces John Deere part number AW27425. The mast for the self-leveling 740 replaces John Deere part number AW27408.
Mount kits are available, also. The mount kits work with any of the John Deere tractors that the 640 and 740 loaders were built to fit.
