Wildlife and forest crime has transformed into one of the world's largest transnational organized criminal activities, alongside trafficking in drugs, arms, and human beings. Criminal groups are using the same routes and techniques for wildlife trafficking as for smuggling of other illicit commodities, exploiting gaps in national law enforcement and criminal justice systems.
To raise awareness around this issue, and highlight the scale and devastating impact it is having, the International Consortium on Combating Wildlife Crime have launched a new Public Service Announcement.
