In Edwards Sheffield’s (Jake Gyllenhaal) novel, Tony Hastings (Jake Gyllenhaal) and his family are on a road trip through West Texas when they are forced off the road by Ray Marcus (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and two of his friends. Tony, his wife Laura (Isla Fisher), and his daughter India (Ellie Bamber) realize they are in danger when Ray and his friends pull over near them.
