Paul Sark, President of Matson Lumber Company, explains why he prefers Hyundai Construction Equipment in this customer testimonial.
my name is Paul Sark, president of Matson lumber company. Matson produces premium hardwood lumber and logs. our products are logs, green lumbe,r and kill dried lumber. it's a hardwood sawmill and dry counts, so we bring cut logs from the
woods to the sawmill here. the logs are put down unloaded by the log trucks, and the logs are scaled in.
logs coming in is about 20 million feet per year, 20 million board feet,, and we also bring in some green lumber, so all told what goes
out is about 30 million board feet of lumber and logs every year.
we put the logs into various piles depending on the sort,
and then then when it's time to saw those logs they get moved back to the sawmill, on the log side of the facility
we have wheelloaders that we use to put logs away and then bring logs to the sawmill. in the lumber yard side we have forklifts that we used to move the lumber around from one processing area to another.
but to be honest with you, we were pretty brand loyal for many years around here, and just this year was the first year that we tried the Hyundais.... and the guys love them. Much preferred over what we were using before.
The Hyundai service has been great. You can tell that they have a culture there of being customer focused and taking care of their customers.
The operation and the controls of the HL940 wheel loader are intuitive, so the guys picked it up right away. I know they really liked the sight lines.... that's a big improvement for them so they're real happy with it.
One option that came with the the loaders is the scale on the forks and it came just in time as some regulations changed at the port, and we've been able to use the scale on the hyundais fork system to weigh the logs as we are putting it into the container, and it met that need just as it just as that requirement came into place.
we try to produce a quality product and we've said that mindset when we go shopping for equipment or anything that we need and we were very pleased with with what we found in Hyundai.
