The Faculty of Clinical Informatics is hosting a series of webinars to share approaches and experiences to help respond to the COVID-19 emergency.

This third webinar in the series functioned as the first meeting of the Faculty Clinical Safety Special Interest Group, and to discuss key clinical safety issues in light of COVID-19.

The webinar was hosted by Sebastian Alexander (Founding Fellow of the FCI, NHS Digital, Safety, SME Apps Programme) and this second part featured the following presentations:

The Work of the National Pathology Xchange:
• Andy Harris (National Pathology exchange, General Manager X-Labs)
• Clive Tomsett (Clinical Safety Officer, previous Safety Officer roles with Cerner, Accenture, BT, Fujitsu and NPSA)

The National Pathology programme; some proposed solutions:
• Jay Kola (NHS Digital Business Lead for Terminology & Innovation)
• Andrew Sunley (NHS Digital Programme Manager, Pathology Standards)
