Join the Kentucky Out-of-School Alliance (KYOSA) for a conversation on how high quality out-of-school time (before-school, after-school and summer) program can positively impact youth, their families and our communities. Participants will learn about the significant research base for these programs as well as free resources to support their own work.
Thomas Haggard has served since 2019 as Executive Director of the Kentucky Out-of-School Alliance (KYOSA), a nonprofit public awareness and advocacy organization working to ensure that all children and youth in Kentucky have access to quality afterschool and summer learning programs. KYOSA serves as the state voice for afterschool and provides resources and materials to more than 1,500 afterschool programs. It is building a statewide system to enhance out-of-school time programs by identifying program needs and providing trainings, resources, and tools to meet those needs, all at no or low cost to providers.
Prior to joining KYOSA, Haggard served as Associate Director of Covington Partners. In that position, he oversaw multiple afterschool and summer learning programs that served over 2,500 students annually. During his tenure at Covington Partners, he was chosen as one of fifteen Afterschool Ambassadors from around the country by the Afterschool Alliance. Haggard graduated from Thomas More University with honors. He received his master’s degree in public administration from Northern Kentucky University, where he was chosen as Most Outstanding Graduate. Tom is very active in his community; most recently being elected in 2020 as a member of the Covington Board of Education.
