Harnai is a village in Dapoli C.D. block, in Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra state in Western India.
Suvarnadurg is a fort that is located on a small island in the Arabian Sea, near Harnai in Konkan, a rugged section of the coastline along the West Coast of India.
Fishing is the main source of business for the people of Harnai. Followed by Alphonso Mangoes.
One gets to see Auction of fishes in the evening from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
You will get to see a variety of fishes.
There are two routes available from Pune. One from Tamhini Ghat- NH66-- Khed-- Dapoli--Karde. Second from Bhor-- Varandha Ghat--NH66-- Khed--Dapoli. The second route is with less traffic but ghat road is more. Here the Varandha ghat view is spectacular.
Karde is around 9Km from Dapoli. There are many resorts and Homestays along the sea coast.
The road distance from Mumbai to Dapoli is around 235km and can be reached by traveling on NH17. To travel from Mumbai to Dapoli Beach head towards Panvel – Pen – Nagothane – Kolad – Mangaon and reach Mahad. From Mahad, you can reach Dapoli beach via Khed or via Mandargad.
