The body of this bar is made out of metal. The top part is covered with a solid rubber that makes it impossible to accidentally hit other components of this trigger. The bar is bent, to adapt the round form of a drum pad.
The smartest feature of the Roland BT-1 is this 2-way mounting system. The trigger can be mounted onto a L-Rod or directly onto a regular drum rim. It will not fit uncommon drum rims. This is one of the very best features, as it prevents you from buying additional mounting gear and it saves setup space, which was my main motivation to buy it. I simply do not have space for additional clamps at the spot where I want the trigger bar to be.
This component has to be removed, to apply it directly to a drum hoop.
Another genius feature of this mounting system is the shock isolated mounting system, which is necessary to not trigger other pads trough unwanted vibration transfer when hitting the Roland BT-1. I still hat to change the XTalk to ensure there is no tom rim triggering caused by very hard hits.
The Roland BT-1 does not cause much unwanted room sound, but quit some impact noise if mounted close to the rack or a stand.
The bar is not only very sensitive but also triggers consistently at every spot of the rubber surface.
The jack plug is placed at the best spot possible. It will not get blocked by other parts and the cable does not get loose through vibration. Btw, the bar comes with a stereo jack cable.
