Ancient Messini is located in the southeast part of the South Peloponnese and founded in 370 BC. It has walls 9 km long and two gates. It is a remarkable archaeological site with a large theater, temples, a stadium, a Roman mansion and more. There is also a two-story museum with three exhibition halls.
