The Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation (TGMFC) has initiated the 'Indiramma Mahila Shakthi' scheme to distribute free sewing machines to eligible minority women in the state.
Eligibility Criteria:
Age: Women aged between 18 and 55 years.
Community: Applicants should belong to minority communities, including Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis.
Income: Annual family income should be below ₹1.5 lakh for rural areas and ₹2 lakh for urban areas.
Employment Status: Unemployed women are eligible.
Education: Minimum educational qualification is completion of Class 5.
Tailoring Skills: Applicants should possess tailoring skills or have received training from institutions affiliated with TGMFC.
Application Process:
1. Online Submission: Applications can be submitted through the TGMFC web portal tgobmms.cgg.gov.in from December 16 to December 31.
2. Document Submission: After online submission, a hard copy of the application along with requisite documents should be submitted to the District Minority Welfare Officer in the respective district.
Required Documents:
Proof of age (e.g., Voter ID or Aadhaar card).
Proof of residence (Aadhaar card).
Income certificate or white ration card/food security card.
Educational certificates (minimum Class 5).
Tailoring training certificate from a recognized institute (optional but preferred).
Additional Information:
Preference will be given to the poorest of the poor, needy women, destitute, divorced, widowed, orphaned, and single women.
Only one sewing machine will be provided per family/household.
Applicants must self-declare that they have not availed assistance from TGMFC in the last five years.
This initiative aims to empower minority women by enhancing their tailoring skills and providing them with the necessary tools to become self-sustainable.
