New Delhi, July 23 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Swati Maliwal expressed disappointment at the cancellation of her appointment as Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief by the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, adding that the 'roadblock' would not inhibit her from putting an end to the 'kitty party' culture of DCW. Jung had last evening called DCW and asked to convey his message to Swati Maliwal that she should not attend office. Maliwal said that she is firm on her fight against the kitty party culture of DCW and will continue to fight for women’s safety. The LG, who has been locked in a tussle with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the appointment and transfer of senior bureaucrats, declared the appointment of Maliwal, wife of AAP leader Naveen Jaihind, as "ultra vires" of the rules. The Congress had also said that AAP, which used to criticise nepotism and favouritism, is now following the same path to promote few members of the party.
