-Runners in the New York City Marathon celebrated with the crowd as they approached the finish line after running past the 25th mile marker on November 3. A number of runners can be seen in the video, including Masashi Naoi, from Japan, walking toward the supportive crowd to give high fives and hand shakes. The runners had just past the 25th mile marker in the TCS New York City (NYC) Marathon and were making their way toward the final stretch. Over 50,000 runners took part in the 49th NYC Marathon, which wound through all five boroughs of the city before finishing in Central Park. Geoffrey Kamworor, from Kenya, clocked a 2:08:13 to take his second TCS New York City Marathon title in three years. The 26-year-old half-marathon world-record holder said from the start of the race he “was feeling okay.” Joyciline Jepkosgei, 25, also from Kenya, won the women’s race in her marathon debut with a time of 2:22:38.
