On a petition brought by Congressman Karti Chidambaram asking for a review of the PMLA judgment from last month by a bench led by Justice Khanwilkar, the Supreme Court today gave notice to the Centre. The top court decided to revisit the PMLA ruling in two respects: the Enforcement Directorate does not have to give the accused a copy of the case file, and the accused must establish his or her innocence while the investigation team does not have to establish guilt. "The question is whether we should provide an ECIR copy to the accused. Supreme Court has now said that a larger bench should think and review this judgment in an open court," says Geeta Luthra, Sr SC Advocate. Tune in for a full discussion.
