We interview Stephen Pelle, who gave a paper entitled 'The Fifteen Signs before Doomsday': and Post-Conquest English Identity at the 7th Annual Conference of the Anglo-Saxon Studies Colloquium, which was held at the University of Toronto on February 12, 2011. Pelle, a PhD student at the University of Toronto, talks about his interest in the Old English language during the period 1066 to 1200, and his research on this mid-12th century document, which is found in the manuscript Cotton Vespasian D xiv. The document outlines fifteen signs which will show that the world is coming to an end, and reveals some anti-Norman biases by its anonymous author.
