The last 3 weeks online campaign, we celebrated the Day for Women In Maritime commencing on the 18th May.
Here is Ms. Anaseini Ratulailai Tukana - PacWIMA Executive Committee Public Relations and Communications Officer and Supervisor Seafarers Registration, Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji, extending on behalf of PacWIMA, a big generous warm hearty THANK YOU to the various regional women in maritime associations from the Caribbean, East and West Africa, Arab, Latin America, Asia including the PacWIMA member associations in Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. In the same vein, a warm thank you also to our friends at the leading maritime training institutions at World Maritime University and International Maritime Law Institute.
Without the support of our partners, the Pacific Community (SPC) and International Maritime Organization, this celebration would have not been made possible. Special thank you to all the male Champions at the Government level and private sector. Thank you.
At this juncture, may we close the online campaign with our slogan Our Day, Your Day, Day for Women Maritime.
We look forward to next year’s celebration with more collaboration and strengthened efforts to make this day a global phenomenon.
