Mission: Impossible 2 is a 2000 action spy film, the sequel to 1996's Mission: Impossible. Tom Cruise stars as Ethan Hunt, an IMF agent who must retrieve and destroy a genetically created disease called chimera before a terrorist gang infects the world. The film also stars Thandiwe Newton, Dougray Scott, Ving Rhames, John Polson, Brendan Gleeson, Rade Šerbedžija, and Richard Roxburgh. John Woo directed the film, which was written by Robert Towne and produced by Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner.
