Mt. Bromo is an active volcano located in East Java, Indonesia, and is part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. It stands at 2,329 meters (7,641 feet).

One of the unique features of Mt. Bromo is its stunning caldera, a vast depression or hollow created by volcanic activity. The caldera is approximately 10 kilometers (6 miles) in diameter and is surrounded by towering cliffs that rise up to 2,392 meters (7,848 feet).

Visitors can experience the beauty of Mt. Bromo by taking a sunrise hike to the viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the volcano and its surroundings. Another popular activity is taking a jeep tour across the volcanic terrain to the base of the mountain, where visitors can climb the steep stairs to the edge of the crater and witness the active steam and smoke rising from the volcano.

The Tenggerese people, an ethnic group of Hindu origin, consider Mt. Bromo to be a sacred site and hold an annual ceremony called Yadnya Kasada, where they offer rice, fruits, and livestock to the volcano as a gesture of gratitude and respect.

Despite its active status, Mt. Bromo remains a popular tourist destination due to its incredible natural beauty and unique geological features.
