In this video, as the rain buckets down, come join me to see how a Nintendo technician would repair your L/R Shoulder buttons if they've stopped working!
A few tips!
- NEVER try to fix the buttons by blowing compressed air into the buttons. You will run a high risk of severing the ribbon cable for the top screen and destroy your DSi unit!
- Use a clean workspace and the PROPER tools. Don't improvise tools, as it may cause cosmetic damage and strip screw heads.
- Be gentle and don't over tighten screws.
- Take your sweet time. There is no rush, no competition, just a task at hand. Rushing increases the likelihood of a mistake which can cause damage, so take it slow and double check your work.
- If something isnt fitting right, check it. Make sure everything is as it should when reassembling the unit.
This repair however works 95% of the time for the trigger buttons losing functionality OVER TIME. This method of repair most likely will NOT work if the buttons suddenly lose function after a drop or hard impact.
This video is for entertainment purposes ONLY. I am NOT liable for damage caused to your unit if you follow this video as a guide. If you intend to repair your own unit in a similar fashion to how I do you must be at least semi-competent with delicate electronics repair. I make it look easy because I've been doing this for 15+ years.
