TARANTELLA (Pieczonka) played by EMILY PERERA
Recorded by The Westchester Conservatory of Music
February, 1939
This would be Westchester County, NY.
I used WavePad editor to eliminate some low frequency noise on the disc.
The disc shows no indication of the brand of recording blank used.
The other side (not digitized) has Emily playing Mozart "Sonata in G Major" 1st movement November 1938
There are many recordings of this selection, I felt no need to supply another at this time.
Before tape was popular, recordings were made on Acetate Discs. These were an aluminum disc coated with Acetate which can be recorded with a record cutter stylus. The blanks had an extra 3 holes to provide traction since the stylus would develop significant drag.
I purchased many of these discs in the late 1960s early 1970s from Salvation Army. It was easy to spot these in stacks of 78 RPM disks because the edge was shinier. Many came from radio stations.
