It's the end of a fun summer and time for the NOC's Guest Appreciation Festival (GAF). We met up with some friends on the Nantahala, the one western North Carolina river miraculously spared from the wrath of Hurricane Helene to get in a couple of final paddles before turning to dry suits for the winter. There was extra water from a release on the Cascades and Upper Nantahala to add to the fun. This was just a part of a glorious weekend of Fall weather, changing leaves, food, fun and excitement.
