(17 Oct 2020) The newly formed Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) held its first anti-government public rally in Gujranwala on Friday.
The PDM is an 11-party alliance of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), the Pakistan People's Party, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F), the Awami National party and other political parties in the nation.
At the rally, protesters chanted slogans, danced and raised their fists as speeches were made by party leaders.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also spoke to the crowd via videolink from London.
During his address, Sharif hit out at the country's military for toppling his government and the "destruction inside the country."
