Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari passed away at Banda Medical College Hospital in Banda, Uttar Pradesh on March 28. Reacting to this, Umar Ansari, son of Mukhtar Ansari, said that the administration didn’t inform him of anything, he got the news of his father's death from the media. He even alleged that Mukhtar Ansari was given slow poison in jail. Congress' Surendra Rajput and Samajwadi Party leader Ameeque Jamei demanded a thorough investigation into Ansari's death. UP Police conducted flag march as a precautionary measure in various cities of UP following the death of Gangster Ansari.
