Hi, welcome to my channel Absolutely Uniformly Confused, where I like to cover math topics that interest me. This video is about the irrationality of pi+e and pi*e, and the surprising fact that we can prove at least one is irrational. It's a surprisingly simple proof compared to the general complexity of proofs in the subject and relies on the fact that e and pi and transcendental. (Technically, you only need the transcendence of e or pi, but we have both of them.)
