One minute sewing tutorial: Sewing curves easily
If it makes you feel more comfortable, you can pin your pieces together or put a dab of glue stick on the fabric to hold it in place. Take it steadily, not too fast and not too slow and stop to reposition your hand if necessary.
Pivot your hand as the machine pulls the fabric through for you. Don't try and push the fabric, let the feed dogs under your foot do the work.
As always, don't forget to hold your threads when you start out and put the foot down before sewing.
