Maize farmers in Uasin Gishu county are shifting to cultivation of potatoes, owing to better returns. The county government has supported the move saying it will not only put land into better while at the same time improve the county’s economy. This is happening at a time when the cereal millers association have warned of a looming maize shortage in the country.
