It felt inevitable the moment the Tempe proposal died, yet it still feels like a waste. So many years and millions of dollars thrown at a completely unstable franchise that had become as toxic as the landfill the Coyotes wanted to replace. As Utah will now be the home of this franchise, it's a defeat for Gary Bettman and his insistence that a team be in Phoenix... or is it?
