So much has been pinned on next week's climate change summit - the small matter of the future of the planet.
World leaders were no doubt looking forward to being hosted by the Queen in Glasgow.
This evening Buckingham Palace said that she has regretfully decided that she won't be going, after medical advice to rest. She'll record a video message instead.
