9/12/20. That's right a fresh hunt from today! I found some very neat mushrooms while out hiking a new location in Guthrie County Iowa. I'm excited to go back after the rain finally fully quits! Anyways I identified a new mushroom... The split gill mushroom! Latin name Schizophyllum commune. Though my mushroom guide says it's inedible that's only because it's considered tough. ( I threw a clip in at the end of video of my guide notes). My guide notes that this mushroom is actually a survival food and a traditional food in many cultures such as Southeast Asia!
