The 2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport has arrived in Australia, with the 10-year-old mid-size SUV getting yet another update, as its first-generation model stretches into its second decade on sale. Either way, it's looking to challenge the Lexus NX450h+ plug-in hybrid with a new PHEV flagship of its own, the P300e.
Specifically, the Discovery Sport P300e pairs a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produce combined outputs of 227kW of power and 540Nm of torque. With a 14.9kWh battery in tow, its electric-only driving range is 66km. Needless to say, it measure up pretty well on paper – but what about in reality?
Well, in this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Emily Agar spends a week living with the Discovery Sport P300e to see it truly offers the best of both worlds and is, therefore, a good choice for families shopping in the premium segment.
