I've been rigging the NLBN lil mullets like this for some time now when I hit the docks at night for some tarpon action. It takes a little more time to rig the baits this way, but the end results are worth the extra effort. I've had way less tarpon throw the hook this way. Obviously it works for snook as well. I think the big takeaway from this is how much longer the baits last. NLBN isn't exactly known for their durable plastics, so having the bait slide up the line and away from the fish is huge. I can fish a single bait almost all night. Huge money saver! I hope this helps a lot of you out that have been having a difficult time keeping tarpon pinned.
