(16 Jul 2017) French President Emmanuel Macron and Israeli Ambassador to France Aliza Bin-Noun commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Vel d'Hiv Nazi roundup of 13,000 Jews in Paris by laying wreaths at a memorial site.
On 16-17 July 1942, French police rounded up some 13,000 Jews, including about 4,000 children, around Paris and herded them into the Vel d'Hiv cycling stadium before they were sent to camps.
Fewer than 100 survived.
