The Burner Element produces the heat for the stove-top; it may need to be replaced if no heat is produced when turned on or is unable to produce a consistent level of heat.
In this video, we will show you how to repair a Maytag (Whirlpool) Electric Double Oven Range (model number MET8720DH00) by replacing a right rear element (part number WP8273994).
Part Number WP8273994 replaces: 8273994, PS393906, AP3045954, 831369
WARNING: before starting any repair, always make sure that the appliance is completely disconnected from the power source by unplugging the appliance.
Tools needed:
Flat head screwdriver
Phillips head screwdriver
Instructions:
1. Unplug range
2. Open top oven door
3. Unscrew screws on underside of cooktop
4. Tip up and gently lift cooktop off
5. Note element wiring then disconnect wires
6. Detach element clips from stove-top
7. Remove clips from old element and transfer new element, notating clip location
8. Insert clips into stovetop
9. Reconnect wiring
10. Replace cooktop
11. Replace screws on underside of cooktop
12. Close oven door
13. Plug in range and give it a test run!
