Indian Air Force's Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team [SKAT] fly the HJT-16 trainer aircraft, Kiran, developed in India. They are one of the very few aerobatics teams that consistently performs 9-aircraft formation flying and maneuvers. It is regularly invited to perform abroad & has received much adulation & praise from one and all for their spell-binding performance.
They are to transition to the BAE Systems Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer in due course of time, once its induction into the Indian Air Force attains satisfactory levels.
The Indian Navy too has its own demonstration team, Sagar Pawan, that flies the same aircraft.
The Sarang helicopter display team is one of the few such teams in the world currently performing on a regular basis. They fly the indigenously developed Advanced Light Helicopter [ALH], Dhruv, a product of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited [HAL].
The MAKS Airshow is a biennial event organised in Russia.
